Paul, I guess you could say that I’m a big fan of yours! Between your blog & your emails, I love the great advice that you give and the way you break down others’ success stories to be helpful case studies that others can apply. That’s what we’re about, too, taking sound marketing strategy and applying it to the tools that make sense… So, here’s something I wanted to run by you. Using Facebook ads to target individual people. |

We both know that the Facebook ad platform is a very cool way to get in front of a target audience. The demographic and psycographic data that they allow advertisers to use in reaching people lets us zero in on a target audience in pretty exciting ways! But about a year ago, I had the idea to see just how focused I could go, looking to reach just one person.
Now, this all started as a fun way of earning some “brownie points” with my girlfriend (now my fiance). When we first started dating, I set up a Facebook ad with a picture of her in it touting how excited I was that we were together. I filled the targeting with a ton of information specific to her. I knew her age, her college, and her hometown. I went and took a look at the interests that she posted on Facebook and used those, too. Soon, Facebook was telling me that I was going to reach less than 20 people – perfect!
Only about a day later, I got an excited message from her: “You took out an ad?!” It worked!
So, as a Marketer I started thinking about all of the exciting implications. What if I could use Facebook targeting to specifically reach thought leaders? So that’s where you come in!
I wanted to introduce you to our company, G.1440. Founded in 1998 in Baltimore, MD, we’re a technology firm specializing in web design, online marketing, custom app development, and, locally, IT staffing. You’re currently on our LaunchPad1440 micro-site which outlines our suite of entry-level services. We just launched this new product line as more & more organizations are looking for solutions to help them move forward on the web, but don’t have the resources or know-how to drive success internally (or the budget for a large, custom engagements that G.1440 has traditionally specialized in).
I was hoping you could reward our creativity! It would be absolutely amazing if you could provide a link on your blog to us… It would mean a lot to me personally as a reader of yours, and a great deal to our company.
Feel free to borrow from this story, or simply relay to people how you found this. Let your audience know that there’s some exciting, creative thinking going on over here in Baltimore!!
Thanks so much, and feel free to get in touch!
